2024 Yamaha XSR900 GP: A Classic Tribute to Racing Heritage

Yamaha introducing the 2024 Yamaha XSR900 GP: A loving tribute to the past era of racing. Yamaha has unleashed this retro marvel, reminiscent of 80s race machines, onto the international market. The XSR900 GP pays homage to the iconic YZR500 race bikes, featuring a Deltabox-style chassis for enhanced handling and a sporty riding position inspired by the machines of yesteryears.

With its distinctive half-fairing, integrated headlight, and seat that echoes the designs of vintage race bikes, the XSR900 GP exudes a classic charm. The motorcycle boasts many modern features, including newly designed clip-ons and switches, fully adjustable KYB shocks, 17-inch wheels, disc brakes, a TFT display, adjustable footrests, and LED lighting.

Underneath its retro exterior, the XSR900 GP houses a powerful 890cc three-cylinder liquid-cooled engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox, generating 117bhp and 93Nm of torque. Yamaha has equipped this beast with advanced electronics, including ABS, cruise control, quick shifter, and a 6-axis IMU derived from the Yamaha R1, offering sophisticated features such as lean-sensitive traction control, slide control, front wheel lift control, and four ride modes: Street, Rain, Sport, and Custom.
The XSR900 GP stands out with its striking design. It features a bikini fairing with a petite LED headlamp, conventionally mounted LED turn indicators, and a rear seat cowl adorned with a yellow number sticker. It comes in a vibrant red and white color scheme with red wheels and a sleek black and grey variant.

While the XSR900 GP will captivate enthusiasts worldwide, its availability in India remains to be determined. Yamaha’s focus in the country is on other models like the R3 and the MT-09, making the XSR900 GP a rare gem for international motorcycling enthusiasts.
