Popular CID actor Dinesh Phadnis, known for playing Fredericks, passed away in Mumbai due to liver complications on December 4. The 57-year-old actor had been on a ventilator since December 2. He breathed his last around midnight, as confirmed by his co-star Dayanand Shetty.
Contrary to initial reports of a heart attack, Shetty clarified that Phadnis was undergoing a different treatment. Phadnis’s last rites are scheduled for today at Mumbai’s Tunga Hospital.
Dinesh Phadnis entertained audiences as Fredericks in CID from 1998 to 2018. He was loved for his humor and banter with ACP Pradyuman. Besides acting, he wrote CID episodes and acted in a few scenes in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Fans who miss his on-screen presence are now mourning his loss.
Phadnis, aged 57, succumbed to multiple organ failure. Beyond CID, he appeared in Sarfarosh and Super 30 and wrote for a Marathi film. His demise marks the end of an era for CID enthusiasts, and his contributions to the entertainment industry will be remembered affectionately.
